Happy Endings

This page is dedicated to the many stories that
are sent in via e-mail from our wonderful
adopters. Each entry below recaps the
numerous adoption matches that are made at
the St. Seton's Orphaned Animals. We hope
that your hearts fill with love just as ours do
each time our adopters update us on our
beloved rescues. It is a wonderful feeling to
take an animal off the street, rehabilitate him
or her and place the pet in a loving home.

Please e-mail your stories and photos to us
today. This page will be updated on a regular
basis.

King (adopted Oct. 2010)

From rags to riches

King came to us, all skin and bones, taken
from a neglectful person who did not have the
time to feed him.  He now lives with a lovely
family where he is a much loved puppy.

Baloo (adopted August 2010)

Now I have a chance at life...

Baloo was surrendered by a neglectful owner
who could not be bothered taking Baloo to the
veterinarian.  Our veterinarian suspected
Baloo had a serious heart murmur but, after
our visit to the cardiologist, it was determined
he had an inoperable, defective, heart valve.
Dad's new dad is a doctor and Baloo is a much
loved pup who will receive proper care for his
lifetime.

Symba (adopted October 2010)

I am rewarded for my suffering...

Poor Symba was surrendered by his owner
after he was attacked by her German
Shepherd.  She had not bothered to take poor
Symba to the veterinarian to suture the many
puncture wounds.  After a veterinary visit, it
was determined his left eye was permanently
damaged.  Symba was treated, groomed twice
to remove the matts that covered his body
and, he recovered, both in body and spirit.

Symba now lives in the nation's capital in a
pent house with a lovely, doting couple who
adore him.  That is Symba's reward for all that
he has endured.

Grace (adopted July 2010)

I am a much loved puppy...

Grace's mom was picked up as a stray,
pregnant.  She gave birth to Grace and her
siblings.  Grace is a much loved pet.  Her mom
reports that Grace received 31 gifts from her
baby shower.  Grace is a lucky girl!
Ben (to the left) had a hard beginning.
Ben, his 8 siblings and his mom (Rose),
were left at a high kill shelter in rural
Virginia.  Ben now lives in Stafford,
Virginia with a lovely couple who love him
very much (so does Jim, his new brother).

Thank you and St. Seton's for all you do. We
love our puppy and she is a perfect fit for us.

Merry Christmas,
Lisa and Sam
All,

It has been just over 3 years since we adopted a puppy from your
rescue and we wanted to send you an update on what an wonderful
addition Haley has been to our lives.  When we took Haley home, she
was so calm for the first week and we were amazed.  Once she warmed
up and felt comfortable - that changed!  Three years later, Haley
remains very energetic - she loves to play with all her dog friends in
the neighborhood and at the dog park and she enthusiastically
wrestles with her best friend, our neighbor's dog!  She is more skittish
of people, but training and walks in town have really helped reduce her
hesitation with people. Each time my husband and I return home, even
if we have been gone for only a short time, we are greeted with
snuggles, a request for a belly rub, and an out of control tail.  Who can
ask for more than that?  I have attached a picture of Haley from our
summer vacation in the Outerbanks last year.  She had the greatest
time running on the beach and chasing the birds in the surf!  Haley has
given endless amounts of love and amusement.  She is the funniest
dog with many, many quirks, which make her unique and even more
lovable.  We thank you so much for Haley, we can not imagine life
without her!

All the best,
Ann and Colby C.
Cedric (left)                  Dino (Center)             Baxter (right)

Cedric was one of the first dogs we ever adopted out.  Diana, Cedric's
mom, trained him for obedience trials.  Cedric is a champion many times
over.  He is now 14 and retired, living happily with his mom and brothers.
Dino and Baxter are also rescue dogs.  Bad dogs do not end up in
shelters.  They are victims of circumstance.
