1. Who is eligible for assistance?
Answer: You must apply for care credit and be DENIED. You are still eligible if you were approved but, the
amount does not cover the entire bill. You must provide a copy of the notification from Care Credit.
2. What type of assistance is provided?
Answer: We do not provide assistance for basic, preventative care (vaccines, heartworm tests, Feline
Leukemia tests, etc.) unless you are a client of the Rappahannock Area Agency on Aging, a Hospice patient
or you are receiving Medicaid, Food stamps or, Aid for Dependant Children.
All others:
We provide assistance for NON-EMERGENCY care. Click on the, "Emergency Care" link for organizations
who may be able to help.
3. How is the bill paid?
Answer: Our organization pays any portion of the bill not already paid to the veterinarian upon completion
of services. Under no circumstances will we reimburse the pet's guardian for payment for services already
rendered.
4. How can I avoid expensive, veterinary expenses?
Answer: Click on the, "insurance" link and select a veterinary insurance plan. Diagnostics alone are very
expensive. Often, by the time the problem is diagnosed, the guardian has no funds for the treatment. For
an average of $60.00 per month, you can protect yourself and your pet from catastrophe or, worse, having
to euthanize your pet due to lack of resources.
