SURRENDERING YOUR PET The truth be told A pet is for LIFE Giving up your unwanted pet to a local shelter or rescue group because YOU can no longer give them the time and attention they need is not a solution. Rescues groups and shelters are already over loaded with abandoned and unwanted animals….most, if not all, are staffed by volunteers who work full time, have families of their own and are stretched thin caring for and fundraising for their many abandoned foster animals. So TRUTH BE TOLD……your animal will not get more love, will not get more one on one attention, will not get more time out to play, will not have acres & acres of space to run and be free, will not get more of what you can no longer give. Truth be told, if you can’t commit to an animal for their entire life span, DO NOT get a pet. Don’t get one for your child and then when they become bored of it, give it away……that is not teaching responsibility or respect for life. It is teaching that animals are disposable and that is wrong. |
